A graveyard was flooded and homes left without water after two water mains burst.
South East Water was alerted to a burst water main in Royal George Road, Burgess Hill, at 9pm on Sunday (November 1).
A spokesman said its team found a second burst in Fairfield Recreation Ground.
The spokesman said: “Our team have investigated and found a 12-inch diameter main had burst, and there was also had a second burst in Fairfield Recreation Ground.
“To minimise the number of people affected we have re-routed water around other parts of our water pipe network so most customers should have had their water supplies restored overnight.
“We are still in the early stages of the repair at the moment and it is complicated by tree roots which make it a particularly difficult job, but we hope to get the water system back to normal as soon as possible.
“Just in case there is anyone waking up with no water we are providing bottled water at The Weald Inn, Royal George Road, RH15 9SJ if people need it.
“Please keep an eye on our website for further updates at southeastwater.co.uk.”
