Poet Giles raising more cash for a good cause

SEAFORD poet Giles Paley-Phillips has published his second book, with all proceeds going to Leukaemia Research.

Giles, 29, is hoping the indiscretions of a bleeding heart proves a hit with poetry fans. It has already gained positive reviews from critics.

He has built up a loyal online fan base, having had more than 18,000 hits on his myspace website since his book Linear Hymns was released in April last year.

The Indiscretions of a Bleeding Heart is about the author's own reflections on fear, loss, apathy and politics.

Giles' first collection has raised nearly 1,000 so far for Leukaemia Research, and he hopes to do the same with his new book.

His mother, Brenda, an East Sussex county councillor, died of leukaemia when he was six years old.

'My first book of poetry was very much a personal look at the subject of grief,' said Giles, who has lived in Seaford all his life.

'The Indiscretions of a Bleeding Heart is about moving on from that grieving process and reflecting on the life around us. I hope that people who enjoyed Linear Hymns will engage with this book in the same way.'

The book is available to buy for only 3 from www.amazon.co.uk or www.myspace.com/gilespaleyphillips.
