At least three offenders, believed to be dressed in scarves and balaclavas, entered a property in the Domewood area at around noon on Monday (October 7).

Police said that, once inside the property the offenders shouted out to the occupant but quickly left the scene.

A second property had been also been entered nearby at around the same time.

Officers are trying to ascertain if anything was stolen during either break-in.

No occupants were threatened or injured.

Investigating officer Detectives Constable Tracey Brocklesby, said: “This was clearly a well-planned and organised offence which occurred during daylight hours therefore I believe someone, somewhere must have seen something which connects to the burglaries.

“I would appeal to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the days and weeks leading up to the offences, in particular I would like information on a dark coloured saloon car which was seen near both addresses around the time of the offences.

“A thorough investigation is being carried out by detectives into who is responsible for these burglaries and we are doing all we can to bring the offenders to justice.

“I want to reassure the public that crime in this area remains low but if you are a local resident and would like crime prevention advice please contact the Tandridge Safer Neighbourhood Team who can provide this.

“If you have any information which you believe may connect please share this with us as a matter of urgency.”

Officers carried out a search for the vehicle and offenders but have not yet located either.

House-to-house enquiries were carried out and officers from the Tandridge Safer Neighbourhood Team are providing reassurance and crime prevention visits in the area.
