Police appeal to find missing girl with Crawley friends

Police have appealed for help to find a 13-year-old girl who has been missing for a week.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said Frankie Catton went missing from her home in Garden Close, Sompting, at 7.45pm on Thursday (September 3) with a local teenage girl she knew.

She travelled to Southampton by train and was seen by members of the public.

She was seen with the same girl at Barnham alighting a train from Southampton to Brighton on Sunday (September 6).

She was described as white, of slim build, 5’7’’, with very long dark brown hair and brown eyes.

A police spokesman said she would appear a lot older than she was and may tell people she was 15-16 years old.

PC Mark Green said; “Her family, like us, are becoming increasingly concerned for her welfare regardless of the sighting and of contacts there have been from her via social media. At present it is understood that she is staying at an unknown address with a young family and is still with the friend she left with on Thursday.

“She uses the railway system and has friends in Hampshire, Worthing and Crawley.

“If anyone has seen Frankie or knows where she may be, please contact us via 101, or via 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk, quoting serial 1525 of 03/09.”.
