Police warn of moped thefts

Police are warning scooter and moped owners to take extra care of their vehicles.

Since the beginning of March there have been four reported as being stolen from outside homes in Hastings.

Three of the thefts happened overnight.

Inspector Chris Veale, from Hastings neighbourhood policing team, said: “Four reports may not seem like a worrying trend however I am conscious that we raise awareness within the town that this is happening.

“I would like all scooter and moped owners to be aware of their vehicle’s security and ensure that they use good quality locks to deter a potential thief.”
