The voting slips for both the Borough and General Election are being verified by an army of counters at K2 leisure centre and the actual count is expected to start within the hour.

Turnout is expected to be higher than at the 2010 General Election and it has already been estimated one of the Pound Hill polling stations recorded a turnout of 75 per cent.
