By sending the words ‘FOSTER’ or ‘ADOPT’ to 82228, residents considering becoming foster carers or adoptive parents will receive a call back from West Sussex County Council’s fostering recruitment team.

They will then be able to find out more about what it means to foster or adopt a child, as well as how they can get started.

“That’s why we want to make it as easy as possible for people to take those first steps to finding out more about fostering and adoption.

“A simple text now allows people to register their interest - then a member of our team will call them back to discuss their skills and suitability as well as answer any questions they may have.”

Texts will be charged at standard network rate. Call backs will be made within two working days.
