Sussex Homeless Outreach Reconnection & Engagement (SHORE) is a partnership of local authorities in Sussex and led by Eastbourne Borough Council. It offers grants to provide outreach services to rough sleepers.

SHORE has a total of £216,000 to invest in hubs covering East and West Sussex over an 18-month period. The grants are to provide outreach services that can prevent rough sleeping and homelessness, as well as improve the health, social care and wellbeing of people sleeping rough.

The closing date for bids is midnight on Sunday 10 November and it is expected that the new service will be commissioned to start from December 2013.

John Routledge, SHORE’s Project Co-ordinator, said: “We want Sussex residents to benefit from services that have added social value. Examples of this include activities that make the most of local knowledge and experience, networks, volunteers and community access points.”
