Arshad Khan, who last stood as a Justice Party candidate in May’s Crawley Borough Council elections, could be seen twirling in the background as political pundits discussed Theresa May’s first Prime Minister’s Questions this afternoon.

His antics sparked the hashtag #dancingman on Twitter, with one user tweeting: “Loving the #dancingman on #bbcnews right now. He’s brightened up my day considerably.”

Twitter users have also been quick to create their own versions of the video with one adding Men Without Hat’s song Safety Dance to the background.

Crawley MP Henry Smith tweeted: “He’s from Crawley - a ‘well known’ constituent and occasional Justice Party Borough Council candidate.”
