Popular hall is all set to grow by Christmas time

RESIDENTS in Pagham will soon be able to make the most of an improved village hall.

Pagham Parish Council, led by their chairman Ray Radmall, has agreed the go-ahead of a new ground-floor extension to the very popular and well-used village hall.

Work has already started on a new meeting room which will seat up to 50 people. The room will have a theatre style.

It will also benefit from separate access from the main building and will be self-contained with new toilets and even a kitchen.

The new space can also be used in conjunction with the main hall, increasing capacity for larger-scale events such as weddings and functions.

The new facilities will also include wi-fi and audio-visual equipment.

It is hoped these will make the hall a great venue for local businesses to use the space for their meetings and conferences.

The hall, which is centrally located near to the village facilities of Nyetimber, is already regularly used by many local clubs and societies and it is believed this new addition will be a great asset for local residents and businesses and encourage more people to take advantage of what the hall has to offer.

The new extension will be on the east side of the existing building and has been cleverly designed to ensure only a couple of parking spaces will be lost to the construction.

The level and easily-accessible entrance will be to the right of the main entrance.

The existing hall is still in use while the building work continues and there is still plenty of free parking.

It is envisaged there will be little or no disruption to current users while the building work continues.

The work is scheduled to be completed mid-December, just before the Christmas period.
