Popular productions are reaping huge benefits

Panto means profit for Eastergate Parish Hall.

The most recent of the annual shows staged by Eastergate Players has resulted in a 3,000 donation for improvements to the community building.

The donation was presented by various characters who have graced the hall's stage appearing for the Players.

Their annual, and much anticipated, productions attract hundreds of people to fill the Barnham Road hall night after night.

Those who go along to future shows will benefit from the electrical work, safety work and new flooring which will be funded by the donation.

Players' former chairman Graham Rousell said: "This amount is the result of profits from our past few shows and is in addition to the many donations we have been able to make to local organisations, primarily working with young people, in recent years.

"Having retired as chairman this year, I must thank all involved who have made this possible and look forward to being involved in our next show '“ Puss in Boots '“ in January."

Each of the Players' shows involve almost 100 people creating and performing them.

Planning for the new show started last June. Rehearsals are well under way. The show's programme is being prepared and advertising space is still available.
