£25,000 Fund for Southwater Library

A GENEROUS big society fund could provide £25,000 for alterations to Southwater library.

A £151,250 grant has been awarded to West Sussex County Council to fund a number of projects that are significant to the local community.

Local West Sussex County Council member, Brad Watson has proposed that up to £25,000 be spent on Southwater library

The projects that the fund is used for must meet one of the strands of the Big Society’s agenda; social action, public service reform, and community empowerment.

The £25,000 project includes minor alterations to Beeson House to allow a “more flexible use of space.”

The re-designed space would also be used for small enterprises look for affordable office accommodation.

Income from the let offices would provide funding to maintain and expand the library provisions.

It also includes the design and change of layout of Southwater Library, to accommodate: The Library service, Youth centre and three self contained offices.
