Staff at The Owl pub, in Kingsfold, were fuming as the group left on Saturday evening, March 4, leaving behind an £120 bill.

Zak Moore, assistant manager at the pub, was serving the group.

He said the men were between 18 and 21-years-old and seemed “quite decent”.

“They ordered their starters and mains and everything looked great,” he said.

“Then there was an ambulance that pulled up outside someone’s house.

“Two of the lads went to check at the window and I am guessing one had gone to the toilet.”

He added the other man remained seated and ordered desserts.

“As I have come out with the desserts they have completely disappeared,” he continued

“We were absolutely gutted and the tables around us were quite shocked, they couldn’t believe it.

“One moment they were there the next moment they were gone.”

Zak said most of the group had ordered expensive meals, totalling about £120.

“The annoying this is one had a 20oz steak that was on the specials board which is £25.

“I was fuming. I had done them a service and they have the cheek to do that.”

The pub is now looking at introducing a policy where groups under the age of 30 are asked to leave a credit or bank card as a deposit.
