Quartet’s charity concert

A charity concert performed by the Lea Graham Quartet will be taking place at Offham Church, near Lewes on Sunday, October 23 at 3pm.

The quartet, made up of Susan Fleet, David Farmer, Belinda Sharp and Chris Simms, will be singing to raise money for the Agi Awa Bah Nursery in Gambia.

Spokeswoman Amanda Ritchie said: “There will be music for everyone with a folk song selection entitled Around Britain, a performance of the renowned John Barry’s Born Free, as well as music by John Rutter, Elgar, Tchaikovsky and Sullivan, all making for an eclectic musical programme.

”As well as hearing from the Lea Graham Quartet, musical students from BHASVIC, Brighton Hove and Sussex Sixth Form College, will also be making an appearance. A pianist, oboist and violinist will be performing alongside musical director Michael James.

“Organiser of numerous fund raising events, Tony Shephard, from Lewes, has been raising money for the school in Gambia for many years. The proceeds of this concert will help fund the expansion of another classroom for the Gambian nursery.”

Tickets for the concert are priced at £6 for adults and free for children, are available on the door and include a complementary glass of wine.
