Rail action group welcomes station make-over

BEXHILL Rail Action Group (BRAG) has welcomed improvements to Bexhill Station, which will be officially unveiled next week.

The booking hall has been re-furbished and re-painted, and a small opening ceremony will take place next Wednesday.

BRAG deputy chairman, Peter Parker said: "These recent works, together with restoration work to the platforms that was completed last year, combine to give a much better first impression of the town to visitors. In recent years the station had been allowed to deteriorate and was in a disgraceful condition.

"Following this refurbishment, there remains a significant amount of space in the booking hall, and Bexhill Rail Action Group would very much like to see some of this used for community or touristic purposes.

'¢The next meeting of Bexhill Rail Action Group will take place at 7pm on Monday, September 1 at the offices of Hastings Direct Insurance, Collington Avenue. New members are always welcome
