According to Southern Rail, trains running through this station may be delayed by up to 30 minutes or be cancelled. Some services will be revised not to call at Clapham Junction.

Disruption is expected until 4pm.

The incident will likely add to disruption in Sussex, caused by an earlier power outage in the Three Bridges area.

All trains between Horsham and Three Bridges were stopped for hours after a power surge this morning, with services from East Croydon also affected. Trains have been unable to serve Crawley, Ifield, Faygate and Littlehaven.

A train shuttle service between Horsham and Barnham was put in place until further notice, serving all stations on this route.

As of 2.40pm, Network Rail confirmed that all the repair work has been completed.

A spokesperson said: "We are recharging the power to the lines, and hope to reopen the railway imminently. Please continue to check before you travel as delays are likely to continue."
