Crawley Town have signed young defender Josh Emmanuel on loan from Ipswich Town.

The right-back will join up with Tractor Boys defensive team-mate Josh Yorwerth, who is also on loan from Portman Road.

The 18-year-old goes straight in the squad for Saturday’s trip to Carlisle and will be with Reds until January 2.

Manager Mark Yates said: “Josh is highly regarded by Mick McCarthy and we’re delighted he has agreed to let us have him for what is going to be a busy period.

“He’s athletic and aggressive and I think he will adapt well to the rigours of League Two. We’d like to thank Ipswich for letting us have Josh.”

Emmanuel joined Town’s academy from West Ham and signed a two-year deal in August - he has made four starts this season.

Meanwhile, midfielder Conor Henderson has joined National League promotion chasers Grimsby Town.

His contract at Crawley runs out on December 31.
