Residents warned to expect more flooding

Residents in parts of Ifield, Maidenbower and Langley Green are being warned to expect more flooding.

Crawley Borough Council has sent Incident Liaison Officers (ILO) to Stafford Bridge, in Ifield Green, Billinton Drive, in Maidenbower and to knock on doors in the surrounding areas to check residents are aware of flood warnings and are prepared.

A spokesman for Crawley Borough Council advised residents that the council does not provide sandbags.

Information on where to purchase them can be found on the West Sussex County Council website.

A flood warning has been issued by the Environment Agency for Gatwick Stream at Maidenbower and Tinsley Green.

A flood alert is in place for Ifield Brook and the River Mole including Ifield, Lowfield Heath, Charlwood, Hookwood, Bewbush, Furnace Green, Maidenbower, Crawley, Horley and Copthorne.
