The Highways Agency has pledged to complete three major roadworks schemes in the Crawley area in time for Christmas and the new year.
The schemes are among 400-miles of roads the agency hopes to clear during the festive season.
In the Crawley area, stabilisation work on 1.5 miles of embankment slopes on the M23 at juction 8 will be completed.
Also 13 miles of resurfacing work on the A23 and one-miles of barrier replacement work on the M23. And 11 miles of roadworks at the A23 widening scheme at Handcross will be lifted for Christmas and New Year.
Simon Sheldon-Wilson, of the Highways Agency, said: “This will be a great help to people travelling over the festive period – by lifting or completing roadworks, more lanes will be open and many of the associated speed restrictions will also be lifted.”
