ROBERTSBRIDGE JAZZ CLUB: Just a reminder that the next evening of Jazz is on Thursday August 11 at Robertsbridge Hall between 8pm and 10.30pm. Tickets are available from Judges at £8 or £10 on the door.

ROBERTSBRIDGE CRICKET CLUB: Are holding the Annual Cooper Cup competition running most week day evenings at 6pm and at 10.30am on Sunday mornings. This is throughout the month of August culminating in Finals Day on Sunday August 28 with a barbecue and refreshments throughout the day, followed by live music, 40`s theme, in aid of the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal. All are welcome to go along and enjoy any of the matches. Go and support your local village team.

ROBERTSBRIDGE AVIATION SOCIETY: Will be holding its Annual Open Day on Sunday 1August 14 between 11am and 5pm. There will be the Civil and Military Aviation collection on display containing exhibits from WW1 to the present day. There is a new exhibition from the 1960`s. There will be stalls selling books, bric-a-brac, tombola, CD`s and DVD`s and refreshments available during the day. Free parking, free admission, but any donations are gratefully received to help with the upkeep of the museum.

ROBERTSBRIDGE BONFIRE SOCIETY: Had a very successful Boot Sale last weekend raising just over £990. Thanks to everyone that supported this event as all the money goes to putting on the fireworks night in November.

REMINDER: A reminder that Sunday September 4 is Flower Show and Pet Show Day. More details to follow.

WELCOME: We would like to welcome Dawn and Roger Hill into our village. 
They have recently taken over the Village Store in Station Road. Now that they have had a small chance to settle in why not go in and say hello. Good luck to you both in this venture, there is plenty for you to take part in, many clubs and societies in a very friendly village.

STOOLBALL: The mixed hosted Crowhurst last Tuesday in an exciting a very friendly match which we won by 27 runs. 
The visitors batted first and Gwylm (37) and Marie (23) putting on 62 before Gwylm was caught by Josh Lewis off the bowling of Ian Kitson (1-8) and then Marie was run out and Steve (5) was also run out. Ben (2) was bowled by Keith Apps (1-5) and Kim (1) was caught by Sarah Clark off the bowling of Jackie Kuhler (1-9) as Crowhurst slumped to 74-5 but Sarah (23no) and Jason (29no) held the innings together to end the 10 overs on 128-5. A 30 run partnership by Keith (16) and Sarah (11) was broken when Keith was caught and 1 run later Sarah was bowled with the score on 31 but JJ Boast (67) kept us on target despite Jackie (2) and Charlie Apps (3) both being run out with the score on 57. Lucy Kuhler (12) put on 65 with JJ before on loan Charlie clean bowled him and when skipper Richard Apps (9no) retired after reaching Crowhurst’ score and Lucy was bowled it was left to young Callum Apps (9no) and Alisha Clark (5no) to see the innings finish on 153-6. Last Thursday’s mixed match against Hooe was postponed due to the rain. 
This Sunday the Mixed are at Icklesham Tournament 10.30am then on Tuesday the Ladies play at Hooe while on Thursday the Ladies are at home to Brightling with both matches starting at 6.45pm.
