Rother Homes launches new project in Sidley

Young parents in East Sussex have the chance to share their experiences and gain qualifications, through a new project, launched last week.

The Young Parents' Peer Education Project is being funded for its first term by local housing provider Rother Homes, which is part of the south-east housing Group, AmicusHorizon.

Aimed at mums and dads under the age of 25, the group will meet once a week in Sidley, East Sussex.

As well as having the chance to make new friends, by the end of the first term the project aims to train a group of volunteers to visit local schools to talk about their experiences as young parents.

Rother Homes will support the project financially until Christmas and then help the group of parents to find further funding so that the programme can continue into the New Year.
