School bus in collision

A SCHOOL coach carrying 35 children from Uckfield and Maresfield was involved in a collision with a car near the Ashdown Business Park on the A272 on Tuesday.

The children were on their way to the Burgess Hill Girls' School when the accident happened at about 7.50am. They were all strapped into their seats and along with the bus driver escaped injury.

The driver of a Renault Megane car travelling towards Maresfield, which was involved in the collision, was taken to hospital with whiplash injuries. The road was partially blocked for a time.
