Six in court after £250,000 cocaine swoop

Six men are due to appear at Crawley Magistrates’ Court today (Monday April 4), after police seized about £250,000 of high purity cocaine.

An operation carried out by detectives from the force’s Serious and Organised Crime Unit resulted in three men being arrested in two cars parked in the car park of the Cottesmore Golf and Country Club, Buchan Hill, Pease Pottage, at 12.30pm on Friday (April 1).

A large quantity of cash was also found. Shortly after detectives raided a business unit at nearby White Herons Farm, Forest Road, Colgate and arrested three men.

Equipment for use in cutting and preparing cocaine for distribution was discovered. Six men have been charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.

They are: Barry Harlow, 64, of Arlington Crescent, East Preston, West Sussex; Lee Burton-Asante, 43, of no fixed address; Albert Mouhtiseb, 27, of Pampisford Road, South Croydon, Surrey; Darren Henwood, 36, of Park Road, Faygate, West Sussex; Andrew Billings, 31, of Horsgate, Horley Lane, Cuckfield, West Sussex, and; Charles Smith, 40, of East Bracklesham Caravan and Boat Club, West Sussex.
