South East drivers believe drink-driving education is not good enough in the UK

In survey conducted by insurance company Insurance Revolution 92 per cent of people in the South-East said the information regarding drink driving is not clear enough.

More than 1000 people were questioned in the poll and 69 per cent of respondents said they didn’t know what the drink-driving limit in England is whilst more than half didn’t know what other factors, apart from alcohol, can affect your blood alcohol limit.

The survey also found more than 52 per cent of people have admitted they felt fine to drive after drinking whilst around 22 per cent admit it ‘costs less than getting a taxi’.

52 per cent of respondents also said they know someone who has driven whilst being over the drink-drive limit.

On April 10 new Government legislation introduced rules to clamp down on a loophole, allowing drink-drivers to effectively ‘sober’ up before providing a sample of either blood or urine.

When asked whether there should be a zero-tolerance policy to drink-driving 63 per cent of respondents from the South-East answered ‘yes’.
