Staff threatened during betting shop robbery

Police are looking for a man who stole cash after threatening a member of staff at a betting shop in Crawley.

Officers were called to the Corals betting shop in The Parade, Northgate, at about 10am today (Wednesday 6 May).

The man was described as being dark skinned and in his 20s with what appeared to be large afro-style hair and a goatee beard.

Officers are currently searching for the thief around the town.

Detective Sergeant Pete Yarrow said: “This was a nasty attack and has left the member of staff very shaken.

“We need to speak to anyone who saw what happened or could have any idea who or where the thief is.”
