STOLEN CAR IN CRASH

A stolen car with six occupants crashed into a tree on Friday night.

The smash happened at about 10.20pm on July 28 on the A265 at Haremill Hill, near Etchingham.

A Ford Escort left the road and collided with a tree causing serious injury to the 17-year-old male driver, 22-year-old male front seat passenger and slight injuries to the others, all in their teens.

The vehicle had been stolen some time earlier from Etchingham Railway Station.

The driver remains is in a stable condition at Eastbourne District General Hospital.

The front seat pasenger is due to be released shortly from the Conquest Hospital, Hastings.

All the remaining passengers have been discharged from hospital with minor injuries.
