Joanne Sykes, who is a teacher at Park Community School in Havant, shaved her head on Tuesday, July 21 for the cancer support organisation.

Joanne, who lives in Chichester with her partner and son, said: “It was really strange to look in the mirror this morning and see my hair so short – but my hair will grow back.

“I have been sponsored £360 so far but I’m hoping that people will still donate.

“This fundraising
event was held in
memory of my mum’s sister who died of leukaemia at age 18, so I never met her.

“It is also in memory
of my partner’s father and uncle who both
died of cancer.

“My son will never get to know his own grandfather and cancer robs us all of family
and friends before
their time.
