Jordy Thomas, 15, from Bewbush, has written, recorded and produced his own song to help support a French charity working with the victims of the attacks in the French capital last month.

The attacks killed 129 people and left hundreds more injured on Friday November 13.

Jordy said: “I wrote it because I have family who were close to the event so it affected me greatly when I heard about the attacks.

“On the Saturday morning I found out about the attacks. I went down to the studio and wrote the song and recorded it on the Sunday.

“The song is called ‘Unite’ and it is about why we have got to work together and have got to stop going to war with each other and live as one nation and not be divided.”

Money raised from downloads of the song will be going to charity Secours Populaire Francais which helps people involved in conflicts and poverty in France and across the world and is working with victims of the Paris attacks.

But Jordy said the message of the song was not just about Paris.

He said: “It is not just a song on the attacks in Paris but the attacks everywhere else.

“We need to use it as an anthem not just for one event but use it as an anthem to stop more tragedies to come in the future.”

The song can be downloaded on Spotify by searching Unite Lil JayTee or you can listen on Youtube by visiting www.youtube.com/watch?v=B9We_S1DGAk.

Jordy added he hoped it would be available on Itunes soon.
