Teenager stabbed at Crawley house party

A teenager was stabbed at a house party attended by more than 200 people in Crawley last night (Wednesday June 1), police have said.

Officers said they were called to reports of a large and noisy party at a house in West Green Drive at around 9.25pm.

A police spokesman said: “Due to the noise and disorderly nature of the event officers used powers under the Anti-Social Behaviour Crime and Policing Act, requiring those present, some 200 young people, to disperse.”

Police said officers found an 18-year-old man at the house who had sustained a stab wound to his stomach.

A spokesman for the South East Coast Ambulance services said the teenager walked into the Urgent Treatment Centre at Crawley Hospital with the injury.

Two ambulances were sent to the hospital and he was taken to East Surrey Hospital for further treatment.

“The wound was not assessed as serious and he was expected to be discharged from hospital on Thursday,” police added.
