Temple on target as specialist stonemasons flown in

WORK on Crawley's new Hindu temple is steaming ahead, with specialist Indian stonemasons now on site constructing its beautiful stonework façade.

The six masons from Gujarat in India arrived last month following months of expensive visa delays - and two are still being denied entry to the country.

But project manager Ashwin Soni said: "It's going extremely well. We're back on target and the stonemasons are making fantastic progress."

The temple is due for completion by the end of December, but the

stonemasons are expected to remain on site for five to six months to polish and point the pink marble stonework.

Mr Soni added: "The weather has been beautiful and so we're very happy because these guys are from a very hot climate and if it was cold they would suffer.

"We've had lots and lots of setbacks and its now looking very positive."
