TFI Timber joins Sussex Police to help vulnerable resident

A local business stepped in to help an elderly woman frightened of youngsters running through her garden.

The pensioner, who lives off London Road, was concerned by children using her back garden as a cut through.

They repeatedly broke the 4ft chain link fencing on her property as they climbed in, and each time it was fixed damaged it again.

Her fears about this behaviour added to health problems she already suffered, having been told by doctors to avoid any further stress or anxiety.

Her unhappiness at what was happening was spotted by Bexhill Neighbourhood Policing Team who suggested she put up a fence '“ she told them this was something she could not afford.

They solved the problem for her by talking to the team at TFI Timber in Beeching Road which immediately donated posts and 6ft fencing which have now been put up.

PS Trish Reeve-Fowkes commented: "This kind offer of help from TFI has given the lady peace of mind and by having her back garden fenced properly it is hoped her health will improve and she will feel less vulnerable.

"Bexhill Neighbourhood Policing Team are in discussion with the local housing association to try and resolve future problems in the area."
