That's third award for Felpham college

Caring students at Felpam Community College have received their third national award in a row.

The latest Giving Nation success was presented by the government's minister for third sector, Kevin Brennan, to a team from the college.

The ceremony took place at the Treasury in Westminster. It recognised the efforts of the students, and those from six other schools in the south, to make a difference through charity, volunteering, social enterprise and campaigning action.

One of the 2008 Giving Nation judges, Anna Reid, said: "Felpham Community College empowers their students to take the lead on social action and charitable activities.

"Felpham's faith and investment in their students epitomises what Giving Nation is all about. We are sure it will continue to pay dividends to their community and charities for years to come."

Elena Stevens, one of the students on the college's charity team, stated: "It is such a privilege to have won awards for three years now.

"I think the important thing about charity at Felpham is that so many people get involved on different levels and in different events. Winning the award to recognise this work is so amazing."
