The Tribute Show in Littlehampton

Elton John, Abba and The Bee Gees were just a few of the pop legends appearing on stage at the town’s Queen’s diamond jubilee concert, thanks to the extraordinary, quick-change talents of The Tribute Show.

A crowd of up to 6,000 enjoyed a perfect summer’s evening on The Green, with balmy weather, top-class entertainment and a great family atmosphere, all rounded off with a superb fireworks display launched from a barge out at sea.

A resounding success at last year’s Littlehampton Town Show and Family Fun Day, The Tribute Show was booked to return for the jubilee concert, arranged by the town council for an August date to keep it separate from the plethora of royal celebrations back in June.

And with such a fine evening, the decision paid off handsomely.

Former mayor Alan Gammon, now chairman of the town council’s community resources committee, was delighted with the concert.

“It was a wonderful show,” he said.

“It must have been one of the best-attended events I have seen on The Green for a long time.

“The Tribute Show people were just fantastic, and the TLA Steel Band were excellent, we can be so proud of the young people who play in it, and that they come from Littlehampton.”

A range of food stalls kept the audience well-fed and children were invited to make their own pizza with Domino’s Pizza.

With no charge for the concert, donations were invited for mayor Emma Neno’s two chosen charities, CancerWise and Home-Start Arun.

Champion collector Tyndall Jones was weighed down by a massive total of £1,094 and more funds came in through collectors for the charities themselves.
