Three people were arrested after two men were assaulted outside a bar in Crawley.

Police are appealing for witnesses after a 32-year-old from Crawley and a 47-year-old from Horley were attacked outside the LB1 bar, in Gales Drive, Three Bridges, on Saturday (February 21).

A spokesman for Sussex Police said the pair were involved in a “short altercation” with some men as they were leaving the bar at around 1am.

They were then attacked at the junction between Gales Drive and North Road.

The 32-year-old sustained cuts and grazes. The other man attended East Surrey Hospital to have his ribs x-rayed after being stamped on during the attack.

Investigator Alex Ryan said: “There was a private function in the LB1 bar that evening and police would be interested in speaking to any of the people who attended who might have witnessed the altercation outside the bar.”

A 24-year-old man from Sutton Coldfield, a 39-year-old man from Congleton in Cheshire, and a 23-year-old man from Merthyr Tydfil were arrested on suspicion of ABH.

They were questioned and bailed until Friday March 20.
