Townswomens Guild present cheque to Homecall charity

LITTLE Common Morning Townswomens Guild presented a cheque for £1,000 to Jenny Private of Bexhill's Homecall charity on Thursday.

The money, which the dedicated ladies raised last year from table sales at meetings and coffee mornings, has contributed greatly to the charity being able to continue it's vital service to the local community, which had run out of funding.

Chairman Pam Magson said the LCMTG raise funds to support a different chosen charity every year, and they made the decision early in the year to support Homecall.

She said: "We pledged the money this year to Homecall, it is a very worthwhile charity and we support local charities to help local people."

Accepting the cheque on behalf of Homecall, (a home visiting scheme for the visually impaired) Jenny Private said: "I am very grateful for the support of the LCMTG, they pledged the money at the beginning of our crisis last year when we had run out of funding. Their kind support has helped enable us to continue."
