M23 reopens after serious crash near Crawley

All lanes have reopened on the M23 following a five car crash.

Emergency services were called to the northbound carriageway near Junction 9 (Gatwick Airport) at around midday today (Sunday July 19).

A spokesman for West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said at least two children and two adults were injured.

Congestion is reported at Junction 10 (Crawley), the roads around Gatwick and Eastbourne Road in Newchapel.

Tailbacks stretched to four miles.
