Man dies after falling from the roof of County Mall

Police and paramedics were called at 10.44pm yesterday (Tuesday August 25), after a man was seen on the roof of the building.

A statement from Sussex Police said: “A 20-year old man from South London was on the roof, which is 200 feet up.

“He was in a distressed state and local police officers went to a nearby vantage point on the building and began to speak to him.

“However at 11.50pm he fell from the roof to the ground and despite the efforts of local police officers and paramedics he tragically died at the scene.

“Police will be preparing a report for the West Sussex Coroner, for an inquest in due course.”
