Motorcyclist seriously injured in Ditchling Common collision

A motorcyclist was seriously injured when he was in collision with a car at Ditchling Common on Monday morning (May 30), according to a police statement.

The 58-year-old man from South Chailey was riding a black Honda motorbike when it was in collision with a black Vauxhall Astra in Folders Lane East, close to the entrance to the Ditchling Common car park at 11.45am.

Police say he was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton having sustained broken ribs and a collapsed lung.

The driver of the Astra, a 53-year-old man from Crawley, was uninjured.

Police are asking that anyone who witnessed the collision or who have may have seen either vehicle in the area in the time leading up to it is asked to email [email protected] or call 101 quoting Operation Woodhurst.
