Here’s the latest news for the roads across Sussex this evening (May 11).

In Brighton, road closures have been put in place at the junctions with Seven Dials and Old Shoreham Road and Howard Terrace, Howard Place, Bath Street and Prestonville Road.

Alfriston Road Southbound near Cow Lane is partially blocked due to debris on the road. Traffic from the A27 to Seaford is affected, but is coping well.

The A27 in Worthing had been partially blocked due to an accident around Sompting Road this afternoon – but the incident has now been cleared.

There are also a few road closures motorists should be aware of.

These include the A29 Shripney Road at Bognor. One lane is closed northbound due to gas main work.

College Road is closed both ways in Haywards Heath due to water main work. These are long-term works.

North Street in Lewes is also closed both ways due to water main works, from High Street to Shoe Lane.

One lane is closed on the A270 Lewes Road at Brighton due to telecoms work.

Cowbeech Road in Rushlake Green, Heathfield, is closed both ways due to water main work.

And Croft Road in Crowborough is closed both ways due to construction in Croft Road, between Croft Road and Nevill Road.
