Teenager dies in A24 collision at Capel

Surrey Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenager died in a collision on the A24 in Capel on yesterday (Sunday April 26).

The collision occurred at 10pm between the Clark’s Green roundabout and the Kingsfold railway bridge which crosses the A24.

It involved a grey Seat Ibiza which was travelling northbound and a silver Ford Fiesta which was travelling southbound.

A teenage girl, who was a passenger in the Ibiza, was pronounced dead at the scene. A second teenage girl who was also a passenger of the Ibiza was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Ibiza, a teenage boy, and the driver of the Fiesta a woman in her 20s, were both taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Detective Sergeant Gary Wright from the Collision Investigation Unit said: “I would appeal to anybody who was travelling on the A24 in either direction on Sunday night to get in touch if you saw this collision or either of these vehicles prior to it.”
