Trespass incident at Littlehaven Railway Station delays trains

Trains were delayed at Horsham Railway Station due to a trespasser on the track near Littlehaven’s station this morning (Thursday September 10).

A man was reported as being on the track at about 8.45am, delaying passengers for about half an hour.

Police were called to attend the incident with the service unable to operate.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “We were called at 8.43am to a man trespassing on the track near Littlehaven Station.

“He possibly accessed the track from the nearby crossing.”

The man left the area within 20 minutes and before officers arrived at the scene, the spokesperson added.

A spokesperson for Southern Rail said: “A person was seen to leap the barriers at the level crossing next to Littlehaven station.

“It is unclear where the person went so police were called to the station.”

There will be delays northbound between Horsham and Gatwick Airport until at least 10.30am.
