Two arrested after crash in Ardingly

Police say they have arrested two people following a crash in Ardingly this afternoon.

Cob Lane, Ardingly was closed in both directions between the junction with High Street, and the junction with Hook Lane.

A statement from Sussex Police said: “Emergency services were called to Cob Lane, Ardingly, just before 3pm to reports of a collision.

“Two cars were involved, however one of the drivers left the scene. The other driver was not seriously injured.

“Two men have been arrested nearby. A 21-year-old arrested on suspicion of failing to stop at an accident, no licence and no insurance, and a 19-year-old on suspicion of using a car without third party insurance, and failing to stop after a road accident.

Update: As of 7pm on November 26, the road was reported to be re-open.
