A woman has sustained ankle injuries after a Smart car and a tipper lorry had been in collision on the A23 this morning (February 24), police have confirmed.

Police said they were called at 9.15am to the A23 southbound at Pyecombe where the two vehicles had been in collision.

A police spokesman said: “The incident blocked all three lanes of the carriageway causing tailbacks to Donkey Hill until the scene was cleared at around 9.40am.

“A woman involved sustained ankle injuries, though these were not thought to be serious.”
