Tributes paid to Crawley boxing legend Alan Minter’s mum

Anna Minter, mother of Crawley born middleweight boxer Alan Minter, has died.

A statement from Ron Parsons, general manager of Crawley Boxing Club, said: “It is with great sadness that we learn of the passing of Anna Minter at the weekend.

“Mother of the former Undisputed Middleweight Champion of the World Alan, and ex top pro Micky, Mrs Minter was a loyal supporter of Crawley Boxing Club for many years.

“Always the perfect lady, and with a smile on her face she was more than just the mother of Crawley’s greatest ever boxer, she was a great friend.

“Having known her personally for very nearly 50 years she was a lovely lady, and on behalf of everyone at Crawley Boxing Club my deepest condolences go out to her husband Sid, Alan, Micky and their families.

“May you Rest In Peace, and thank you for many years of happy memories. God Bless.”
