Two cars collided in a West Sussex village, closing a road.

Emergency services responded to the collision in Water Lane, Wiston, at just before 8.30am morning (Saturday, September 19).

The road was shut by police.

Traffic reports said the A283 The Pike was also blocked both ways as a result of the collison.

The incident affected traffic between Washington and Steyning, according to reports.

A spokesman for West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service said: “We received a call at 8.20am to a two-car road traffic collision in Water Lane, Wiston.

“Three appliances were sent from Worthing. South East Coast Ambulance Service were in attendance when we arrived. We left the scene at 9.06am.”

Sussex Police added: “Two cars collided at the junction of the A283 and Chanctonbury Ring Rd, Wiston at 8.10am on Saturday. The men driving the cars sustained neck and leg injuries respectively, neither of which were assessed as serious. There were no other occupants.”
