Two caught for speeding during Aldwick police checks

A police speed check along an Aldwick road revealed just two speeding motorists.

The pair who were issued with tickets were in the minority among some 60 vehicles checked along Aldwick Road in a recent morning peak driving time.

Police community support officer Gemma Turner teamed up with traffic officer PC Glen McArthur for the speed gun session. It was organised after complaints about speeding in the area.

PCSO Turner reported: "Surprisingly, the speed of the majority travelling through did not exceed the speed limit. The few that did, found themselves with a 60 fine and three penalty points.

"I thought I was very good at judging the speed of travelling vehicles. When standing at Aldwick Road, I was positive there were numerous vehicles speeding.

"But, to my surprise, these vehicles were law-abiding citizens so please take this into consideration and remember it can be very deceiving."
