Two Crawley boys have been arrested after a sheep from Tilgate Park Nature Centre was found savaged and burned.
A spokesman for Sussex Police said the two 17-year-olds were arrested on suspicion of arson and causing unnecessary suffering to the animal overnight on October 15.
The boys were released on bail until January 7.
Nature centre staff found the sheep in woods near to the centre’s outdoor sheep pen the morning after the attack.
