West Sussex County Council will be launching an early Year hub for disabled children on Thursday December 12 at the Langley Green & Ifield Children and Family Centre in Stagelands.

There will be a launch event on the opening day between 10am and midday. It is one of several hubs based at Children and Family Centres across West Sussex, which have been developed with the input of parents. They work closely with Child Development Centres run by Health Trusts, and new specialist Health Visitors.

The hub offers a range of facilities either at the Langley Green & Ifield Centre or at other linked centres, such as parent and child group for parents of young disabled children, a sensory toy library and access to Early Support Coordinators.

They are designed to help make it easier for families with young disabled children to access advice, guidance and services at a convenient location.

A couple of doors down, the charity Springboard, which has a centre for disabled children in Horsham, is working to open its first base in Crawley aiming to be open in Spring next year.
