Two injured: Police hunt for North Bersted burglars

Police are searching for burglars who injured two men during a burglary in North Bersted.

A group of people broke into a property in Stoneage Close and attacked the occupants, two men in their 20s, with weapons.

A number of electrical items were stolen from the property. The victims needed hospital treatment for what police described as their minor injuries. They were discharged from hospital within two days.

Det Sgt Michelle Auger, of Arun CID, said: "This is an unusual incident. The group of suspects spoke to one of the victims by name, which seems to indicate that this was a planned attack.

"Both occupants were lucky they did not receive serious injuries. Sussex Police are appealing to the local community for any information about this incident or witnesses who may have seen a disturbance at the address or in the street."
