Giant Jumble Sale: If you have clothes and other items to contribute to the Sale, and haven’t already arranged to have them collected, please take them along to the Hall any time between 2 and 4pm this afternoon (Friday). The Sale is due to take place between 10am and noon tomorrow (Saturday). It would be a good idea to get there early, while there are still plenty of good bargains to be had.

Brede High Woods: Also tomorrow, at 2.30pm in Winchelsea Beach Community Hall, Dr Patrick Roper will be giving a talk about this splendid local Woodland Trust reserve. Whether you know the reserve well or haven’t yet explored it, you will find this a most informative and interesting talk. Few people know more about the Woods, their history and wildlife, than Dr Roper. This is a free event, with a retiring collection in aid of the Friends of Rye Harbour Nature Reserve.

Church Service: The one service in St Mary’s Church this Sunday is the monthly late morning Sung Family Eucharist, which will start at 11.15am and will be followed by refreshments in the Hall.

Spooky Tales: If you haven’t yet bought tickets for Geoff Hutchinson’s spine-chilling show in the Hall next Saturday, October 25, starting at 6pm, now’s the time to buy them, while they’re still available. Please apply to Celia Langrish (01424 882250, or [email protected] ). The ticket price of £10 includes supper (home-cooked by the Friends of St Mary’s) and there will be a licensed bar. It promises to be a good evening, not to be missed!
